WHY ARE WE CALLED OCTAVE OSTEOPATHY?
Glad you asked!
In terms of music: Octave in music means the same note, but one level higher (or lower). For example, if I was singing a ‘C’ note, then the octave higher is still C, but the next register up so it sounds higher. Another (very generalised) example is if someone’s mum was singing the national anthem, and their dad was also singing the national anthem, they are singing the same notes but at different octaves because typically a male singing voice is lower than a females..
In terms of Osteopathy: We love the idea of then bringing this into osteopathy. If you come to us with lower back pain that is worsening your quality of life, stopping you from doing the hobbies you love, then our job is to take you to that next level up. You’re still the same person, still singing the same note, but elevated! Through patient education, pain relief, advice, reassurance, rehab tools to improve yourself at home, hands-on to make you feel great.
In terms of language: We love alliteration, and even if you have no knowledge of music or osteopathy, it still rolls off the tongue!
