Clinical Mat-Based Pilates Qualified!

Hello everyone!

Last weekend, our Osteopath Anna attended a weekend CPD course at University College of Osteopathy in London, where she became qualified in prescribing exercises using Clinical Mat-Based Pilates.

This allows Anna to prescribe a bespoke 6-week plan for you to use in a session / at home to help rehabilitate your aches and pains - for example lower back pain, shoulder pain, hip tightness, ankle injury and much more!

Pilates is a great tool as it combines strength and mobility work, in a low impact, specific way. There are lots of pilates-based exercises that look quite 'easy', when actually they are using lots of supportive, intrinsic postural muscles and feel very difficult whilst doing them!

Pilates was named after its founder, Joseph Pilates in the 1920s, and is now used by over 12 million people daily! It is based around 6 fundamental principles that are shown below.

If you want to learn more about how pilates exercises can be used in a clinical setting to help with your aches and pains then please do get in touch!

Thanks for reading!
